Oysters are excellent maybe little but have a huge punch . A punch of health that is . If you raw / home cook these are a god send . If you feed processed these are still a great treat now and again . For the humans amongst us , they are super good for us . Remember when covid first started and everyone started buying all the zinc supplements. These guys were right there waiting.
I normally buy a few just bake or cook in the half shell on the grill one for me one for Barkley and dehydrate the rest for the week ( for Barkley) they do come in a can if you can’t buy them fresh

Unique Antioxidant
Oysters also contain a recently discovered, unique antioxidant called 3,5-Dihydroxy-4-methoxybenzyl alcohol (DHMBA).
DHMBA has powerful antioxidant effects.
Test-tube study showed that it was 15 times more powerful in fighting oxidative stress than Trolox, a synthetic form of vitamin E commonly used to prevent damage caused by oxidative stress
studies indicate that DHMBA from oysters may be of particular benefit to liver health.
Scientists hope DHMBA will prevent and treat liver diseases in the future.
DHMBA is also found to reduce oxidation of LDL (bad) cholesterol. The chemical reaction linked to atherosclerosis (plaque buildup in the arteries), is oxidation of cholesterol a major risk factor for heart disease.
Research is still being done but it could determine that DHMBA would be effective to fight oxidative stress in humans, and if it helps us human changes are it will help our dogs too.

What we do know is they are high in zinc, iron, copper, omega3, selenium and it B12 to name just a few .
Zinc makes protein and DNA genetic material in cells. It’s also amazing at fighting of bacteria and viruses . It helps immune and metabolism function.
Selenium is important for reproduction .
It’s good for thyroid gland and dna production. Protecting from free radicals and infection .
Iron is an essential nutrient , it helps transport oxygen throughout the body.
Iron is part of hemoglobin which carriers oxygen from our lungs throughout the body.
